Lets cut to the chase... This Friday the 12th of June marks one year since I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer. I've kind of promised myself that now my active treatment is finished and I'm officially cancer free I'm going to dedicate some time into raising some awareness to breast cancer in younger women and also giving back to the places that helped me most on my cancer journey and that can help future patients along the way.

My first port of call is to give back to the Oncology day ward in St.James Hospital. The staff in this ward are absolutely AMAZING and they give their all to help each and every patient that comes through their doors. They need fundraisers like this to help them continue to give each patient the best experience possible in the most comfortable environment possible and with the help and support of the St.James Hospital Foundation I have set this up. Without the support and facilities from all in this ward my time with cancer would have been completely different. I can even look back at days I spent here with fond memories of compassion and friendships made. Every future patient who walks through those doors deserves the same and I hope this contribution can help continue that on however big or small it may be.

With this in mind to mark the year this Saturday I will walk 29,000 steps with some of my close friends (1000 steps for every year I was the age I was diagnosed) + I will walk an extra step for every €1 that is raised before 9am on Saturday morning. For example if €500 is raised , I will walk 29,500 steps etc. So the more generous you are, the more you will make me walk ;)

I also encourage anyone who wants to, to get involved and walk 29,000 steps with me, this Saturday and maybe share this page to raise some donations and awareness :)
