AMAR is an award-winning charity that works in the Middle East to help millions rebuild their lives in countries scarred by war. For 25 years AMAR has provided a package of healthcare, emergency relief, and education, to help improve the lives of some of the world’s most disadvantaged people.

Story

Hello friends,

I’ve recently learned about the work of Amar Foundation - a charity that has been rebuilding the lives of Iraqi people for 25 years.  Amar is unique because they use local resources and employ local people to build and staff hospitals and schools in the some of the most war-torn areas in the Middle East.  I loved the idea of locally-led development, and their focus on empowering women and religious tolerance education.

Please join me in supporting Amar Foundation by coming to a Favourite Things Party and donating any amount to Amar Foundation on this JustGiving.com page.

A Favourite Things Party is a fun way to learn about new items that can make your life easier, efficient and fun.  Everyone will bring an item, and during the party we'll exchange the items and you'll come home with something new!  If you can join, please bring a new item (or items) worth £10-15 total that you love and want to share with others!  In the past we have spent more money on the items, but instead, we'll turn it toward donations.  Please also bring a favourite treat, sweet or savoury, to share.

Warmly, Gina
