Facing The World is helping to change the future for Vietnamese children by facilitating operations and supporting surgeons through global training programs, giving children with facial disfigurement a chance to thrive.

Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page.

As you may have seen in the Channel 4 documentary, Facing the World was founded to help children with severe facial disfigurements who are unable to access the surgery that they need in their own countries.

Norman Waterhouse and Martin Kelly founded the charity in 2002 together with generous and skilled medical colleagues. Our entire medical team from theatre staff to senior consultants all donate their services and without each member we would not be able to do our work. The charity only has one paid employee.

We fundraise to cover hospital, travel and accommodation costs for remarkable children and a parent who come to the UK for the surgery that it is hoped will allow them to have lives free of the stigma attached to their disfigurement in their own countries.

We receive no government or other institutional support and rely entirely on personal donations.

With your help we will be able to change the lives of even more children.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us. Facing the World will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
