Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  I was recently diagnosed with a brain tumour and will be having surgery to remove it  on the 16/03/16 . The tumour is slow growing and the doctors have said it may have been there for years. It really has been a secret brain tumour even from my self!  I was originally misdiagnosed with an inner ear infection as I had some strange symptoms. These included violent bouts of vertigo, severe migraines, nausea, dizziness and a feeling of being disconnected from my body. At times these experiences were both painful and terrifying. The worst part was not knowing what was happening to me and why! 

* According to The Brain Tumour Charity......

* Brain tumours are the biggest cancer killer of children and adults under forty.

* Over nine thousand people are diagnosed every year with a primary brain tumour, although as all are not recorded this could be even higher.

* Brain tumours reduce life expectancy by on average twenty years- the highest of any cancer.  

* According to recent government statistics  .......... In 2014, brain tumours received 1.5% of the 498 million national spend on research into cancer.

I am studying to be a journalist and saw this as an opportunity to turn something negative into a positive. By using my creative skills I aim to raise awareness and funding for Brain Tumour Research.
