London Legacy is a volunteer organisation dedicated to caring for the families of deceased and incapacitated veterans, as part Legacy Australia. London Legacy is dedicated to locating the families of both Australian and New Zealand service personnel living in the UK in order to offer our support.

Story

My dad died when I was 6, and as a member of the Australian Defence Force, both my mother and I were taken under the care of Legacy.

Legacy became a huge part of my life, and remains so to this day. Legacy is my family, and the experiences and friendships I have gained through Legacy continue to make me the person that I am today.

In memory of my dad, and in a greater sense, to all of those who have given their lives in service of Australia, I am running my debut ultra-marathon to raise funds for Legacy. The minimum target to be eligible to race is £300, but I hope to exceed £1000, money that will go directly to helping families of deceased and incapacitated servicemen.

The suffering I will endure as I push to run the 56kms/35miles in less than 5 hours, is only a fraction compared to what members of the ADF and their families go through when a loved one doesn't return home. In that spirit, I thank you in advance for your donations and support of me, and in turn, Legacy.
