1 in 2 people will get cancer in their lifetime - what a shocking and sad statistic! 

Unfortunately, our dear mum was one of those people and passed away last year from small cell lung cancer that metastasised to the brain. 

Just like so many other families who have experienced the devastating effects of cancer and losing a loved one - it's extremely hard for all involved. 

Our mum fought to her last breath and managed to still laugh and put a smile on everyone's faces. She was just amazing and is missed beyond words could describe. 

The Garden House Hospice Care team provided the vital support and specialist palliative care for mum as well as providing support to us after losing her. 

They are an amazing charity who help families and carers facing life limiting illnesses, to enable them to have the best possible quality of life by providing care and support in the setting of their choice, without discrimination.

I am taking part in the Kilimanjaro challenge to help raise funds for the charity and in memory of our sweet, funny, kind, loving and beautiful mum.
