Bath University students are trekking Mount Kilimanjaro in 2016 for The Children's Society to help children and young people who suffer extreme hardship, abuse and neglect.

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!

In the summer of 2016, along with other students from the University of Bath, I am going to climb Mount Kilimanjaro for the Children's Society charity. As a team we will be trekking for a week- climbing up to a peak of 5,895m high. It’s the highest mountain in Africa and the largest free-standing mountain in the world.

We are doing this to raise money for the Children’s Society. Currently, there are 3.7 million children living in poverty in the UK. The Children’s Society work with some of these children and their families in order to support them and increase the quality of their lives. During 2014/15, they worked with 34,893 children and young people through our targeted services and children’s centres, providing intensive support to 15,820 in 2014/15, an increase of 7% from the previous year.

Here is the webpage for the charity if you want to find out some more information: https://www.childrenssociety.org.uk
