Story
Nico and I have chosen to walk The Blackpool Colour Run on June 25th in memory on Nonno. I'll be 36 weeks pregnant at the time of the event so will be walking as we wouldn't want any suprises along route. If our Nonno could power through every day with the bad hips he had and bad health he burdened whilst still working then our task doesn't seem so hard at all and totally worth it to riase money for such an amazing cause. Hard work partnerd with lots of fun is what Nonno did best.
For anyone wanting to join us we'd be so so grateful as every participant and every penny raised makes a difference ❤️.
A but about Nonno:
My Nonno, he was a man like no other. He worked so very hard all his life to build a stupendous family, he didn't only build it but taught us the right values, to stay close and understand the importance of supporting one another. I guess he tried preparing us for the moments in our lives when we all feel a little lost, hurt and confused but nothing could prepare us for the day we lost him. Losing Nonno was hands down the hardest thing I have had to accept and deal with in my life. My heart will always have a missing piece which is only possible because of how much I and the family adored and loved him. 4 years on nearly and it's still as painful knowing we'll never have you in this lifetime again.
A little poem that always brings me comfort ✨️
A limb has fallen from the family tree.
I keep hearing a voice that says,
“Grieve not for me."
Remember the best times,
the laughter, the song.
The good life I lived
while I was strong.
Continue my heritage,
I’m counting on you.
Keep smiling and surely
the sun will shine through.
My mind is at ease,
my soul is at rest.
Remembering all,
Now I truly was blessed.
Continue traditions,
no matter how small.
Go on with your life,
don’t worry about falls.
I miss you all dearly,
so keep up your chin.
Until the day comes
we’re together again.”
