Velindre Cancer Centre provides care and treatment for patients and their families.  I have personally had family and friends who have been treated at Velindre so this cause is very close to my heart - which sadly is the case for many of us whether it’s directly or indirectly.  

The care all patients receive is second to none with all staff working tirelessly to provide the best care possible. To help raise money for this worthy charity I have decided to get on my bike (literally) and sign up for this challenge (it’s a toughie) cycling for up to 8 hours a day (ouch) and let’s be fair everyone knows I’m a runner! 

My Nan who actually seemed to be a Nan to everyone spent a lot of time at Velindre and would always donate while she spent time there (she was the most selfless person I know), even fundraising while she was ill - so if I can do this I know she would be proud. 

Anyone that knows me already knows that back in October 2017 I underwent major spinal surgery - not something I undertook lightly but due to the severity a number of small triggers could have meant a life changing story - thankfully my operation was a success and even though I am in constant pain it is nothing compared to the cancer patients that need life saving treatment daily and I am truly humbled and inspired by each and every one.  

This is why I have chose Velindre as I would like to help give something back - I would be grateful for any help and donations received, so please help me make a difference to someone’s life.
