We are a team of 21 colleagues (past and present) from West Byfleet Infant School who are fundraising for the Ronald McDonald House Charities which provide free 'home away from home' accommodation at specialist children's hospitals across the UK, enabling families to stay close to their child and maintain a degree of normal family life.

A very dear colleague who’s little girl was diagnosed with Nephrotic Syndrome (a kidney disease) back in September (after becoming poorly) has spent many months backwards and forwards to various hospitals. Her daughter's longest stint in hospital was at Evelina Children's Hospital where the medical team have worked hard to find the best treatment plan for Naia going forwards. Thanks to the Ronald McDonald House Charities Naia's whole family have been able to be by her side throughout her treatment helping Naia to hold onto a degree of normal family life and help her to be brave and resilient. 

Naia is now back at home adjusting to her new life on dialysis whilst the medical team at Evelina Children’s Hospital are seeking a donor for her as quickly as possible.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities have 14 Houses in total across the UK. Each year they help over 6,000 families to stay together, and they couldn't continue without your support. There are many more families who need their support - we would like to be able to give a little something back on Naia's behalf and to say thank you to the Ronald McDonald House Charities for looking after our colleague's daughter and her family. We are all taking part in the Inflatable 5K series 2023.Taking place on Monday 8th May in Guildford, we'll bounce around a unique obstacle course like no other. Please help us to say 'Thank you!' and to keep more families together with their sick children by donating and supporting #TeamRMHCUK in the 2023 Inflatable 5K series. It is thanks to supporters taking on events like this that RMHC UK can continue to be there for families.
