At Young Lives vs Cancer, we help families find the strength to face whatever cancer throws at them. But every day 12 more children and young people hear the devastating news they have cancer. We’ll face it all together – but we can’t do it without you. Visit www.younglivesvscancer.org.uk

Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Wilm's Tumour is a rare type of kidney cancer that only affects about 85 children a year in the UK.

A pupil in our Year 2 class was diagnosed with Wilm's Tumour in the Autumn Term last year, and is very poorly at the moment.  He has undergone an operation to remove his tumours and has already received several sessions of Chemotherapy.  He is currently receiving daily radiotherapy at Bristol Children's hospital, and will be starting Chemotherapy again next week.  He is looking at several more months of treatment but is being extremely brave; he hopes to be able to visit his friends at Nailsworth Primary School soon.

We are raising funds for CLIC Sargent, a charity that his family are keen to support.  CLIC Sargent work tirelessly to support patients and their families in every way needed; emotionally, practically, financially, educationally and clinically.  Through extensive research and by campaigning for policy change, they also give young Cancer patients' and their families a voice to politicans and decision makers across the UK.

So, how are we raising funds?  Heidi, Sarah, Vince, Clare, Mark, Amanda,  Natalie and Andrew, who are staff, partners and parents at Nailsworth Primary School, shall be running Bath half marathon on Sunday 17th March 2019.  With only 6 weeks to go before we get to the start line, some of our training will be a bit mad!!  We are all at different running levels, and Vince's personal challenge is to beat the sweeping up lorry!!  But we are determined to complete the 13.1 miles to raise awareness and as much money as possible.

Please give what you can to support this young lad and his family, and raise much needed funds for an amazing charity.  Thank you.
