Who, what, where and why!
People who know me well will know that to get me on a treadmill for 50 minute run is my idea of a nightmare, so you can appreciate this is a very important cause for me!
I have chosen to run
for Diabetes UK because of the tremendous support and information they
provide to people with diabetes. My father, nan and late grandfather all have had Type 2 Diabetes - diabetes affects both sides of my family.
My father's
heart attack in 2007 really brought home how important early diagnosis and managing your diabetes is. Back then, there wasn't much information, research or understanding about diabetes and how to manage it available. Charities such as Diabetes UK have helped put the physical and mental impact of diabetes in the public domain and helped thousands of people affected by this disease.
Run chicken, RUN!
I am
now sure it's going to be all RUN, maybe stagger, crawl, find handsome
man to piggy back.. but I will certainly give it my best shot. The BBC camera's will be there as well, so maybe I can get my rollerblades on and lassoo on to the camera car to the finish? Any suggestions are always welcome :)

Get Tested!
Thousands of people are living with undiagnosed diabetes every day - having an impact on their mental and physical health. Diabetes tests are available at many pharmacies free of charge, your local medical surgery should be able to organise a test for you. If you would like further information, Diabetes UK also have the symptoms of diabetes on their website:
