Sands is the charity speaking up about pregnancy and baby loss, saving babies’ lives and supporting bereaved families. Together, we are saving babies’ lives and improving maternity safety and bereavement care through research, training and campaigning.

Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me.

Following the sad demise of our daughter Naima, Joan & I received fantastic support from SANDS in helping us cope with our grief. A website has been created in memory of Naima (http://naima-phillipsmaund.memory-of.com/) and we would appreciate those wishing to do so to light a candle in her memory.

Sands are best known as a supporting organisation. However Sands also work hard to improve care for pregnant and bereaved parents. Sands aim:

  • To see improvements in practice in maternity care to ensure as few babies as possible die at birth
  • To encourage more research into the medical causes of stillbirth
  • To ensure parents receive appropriate care when a baby has died, and in any subsequent pregnancy.
  • To raise awareness of stillbirth and neonatal deaths in the wider community.

This website is the most efficient way to sponsor me and totally secure. SANDS will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me and be generous!

I would like to thank those who have already sponsored me and those that will for your support.

Joan & Chris

P.S. For those uncomfortable using the website to sponsor me please e-mail me chris_phillips-maund@hotmail.co.uk to arrange for alternative method of donation.

P.P.S. I have managed to run 10K in training a few times so far with my best time to date as 57mins 30 secs so I hope to beat this on the day....!!!!
