Sleepout challenges colleagues to give up their bed for one night to raise money and awareness for young people who could one day find themselves without a choice. Despite first impressions, the Sleepout is an incredibly fun event there's live music, food trucks and a bar so you can enjoy yourself before settling down for a cold winter's night.
However, it wouldn't be a true fundraising challenge if there wasn't some discomfort and sleeping outside for the night is certainly very testing. We cannot replicate what it truly feels like to sleep rough, but we can sleep outside for a night as a symbol of standing up for those who don't have a choice.
According to 1625IP homelessness is on the rise. Last year they saw an increase of 30% in new referrals to their services, and a staggering 1,600 more young people presenting as homeless in the UK. By taking part in the sleepout and raising money for 1625IP, you can help make a difference.
