Story

This is a joint fundraising page for Donna and Naomi

A note from Donna:

“Myself and Naomi are fundraising for this charity and as some of you may be aware this is very close to my heart having used the services they offered when my own daughter was born with a terminal illness. The doctors said she wouldn’t live beyond 6 weeks but she outsmarted them all until just before her first birthday. I would not have survived that time if it hadn’t been for their support and was so lucky they were there. The environment allows you to be a family, they take the medical worries for you and the first time you go there is generally the first proper sleep you have since your world was turned upside down. You get to be just a mum, dad, brother or sister without the weight of your situation on your shoulders. The memories they help you make you will always treasure and the preparation and support for what will be those last days, the days and months beyond are what makes this remarkable place. I know I would not have had the courage to have another child had my support team not been there every step of the way, the team are all amazing.”

Naomi House & Jacksplace relies solely on funding from the general public and it needs to raise £9.2M a year to continue supporting seriously ill children, young adults and their families. It offers respite, emergency, end of life and bereavement care for the children, young adults and their families.

There are many charities solely reliant on the generosity of the public so whatever you can spare is gratefully received.
