Naomi's Real Meaning of Christmas

Real Meaning of Christmas · 12 November 2019
Fortalice is a Bolton based organisation providing front line services including a 22 bed refuge, training and group work for women, families, children and young people who are, or have been, affected by Domestic Abuse and Violence.
Fort Alice is a local charity that is close to my heart. Call me 'scrooge' as I would rather work over the festive period but making other people's Christmas' better makes my Christmas meaningful. I do not want material gifts for myself. If you could please donate to this JustGiving page instead of buying me a gift this year. If I hit my target of £500 that is going to help pay for TWO victims of domestic violence to sit the Freedom Programme held by Fort Alice Bolton.
Freedom Programme is a domestic violence programme which examines the roles played by attitudes and beliefs on the actions of abusive men and the responses of victims and survivors. The aim is to help people make sense of and understand what has happened to them, instead of the whole experience just feeling like a horrible mess.
They
are always grateful of donations and accept all kind of
items from toiletries and food to gifts for the women, clothes and toys. At
this time of the year they try to give their children new toys as they have quite
often had very little or never had the positive experience of new toys.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Core funding leaves Fort Alice annual shortfall of around £85.000 which is the challenge they have to meet each year. However, with the constant trend of funding cuts and the demand for efficiency savings this challenge is getting much harder.
