Story
“I’ve faced something I never imagined I would — losing both of my parents on separate occasions to the effects of mental health struggles that tragically claimed their lives.”
So this October, I’m running 90 miles for Mind 🏃♀️💙. I’m running this to raise money for something I deeply believe in.
We were a “normal”, happy, loving family, and it’s still hard to believe this became our story. While that pain will always stay with me, I want to turn it into something positive — something that might help others find hope.
Mental health is something I know all too well — I’ve faced my own struggles, and I’ve seen how isolating it can feel for friends, family, and at times, for myself. Recently, I stopped on my way home to speak with a young person who was standing on a bridge, feeling like they couldn’t go on. I managed to talk them down, and it reminded me just how vital it is that people have someone to turn to in their darkest moments.
That’s why I’m taking on this challenge — to support Mind, who are there for people when it matters most. Their work saves lives, and right now, their support is needed more than ever.
Every mile I run is for my parents, for myself, and for anyone carrying silent struggles. If you’re able to support my fundraiser, it would mean the world — because together, we can help someone feel less alone. 💙
