Story
Hi and thanks for visiting my fundraising page.
I'm not sure whether I'm mad, just plain stupid or possibly even both, but this year I have set myself the target of running a marathon - and in the process, raising lots of funds for a very worthy charity. Having completed 2 half marathons, about to do the 3rd this year, I have decided to take things up to the next level and go for the full 26.2 miles!!!
I've chosen New York not, contrary to popular belief, because it is an excuse for a holiday, but as I didn't fancy the idea of training in January and February, the New York marathon being in November seemed a much better option as I get to train in all the nice weather (well July!).
The Alzheimer's Society is a charity close to my heart as my Grandad sadly suffered from this disease in the later years of his life. It is truly horrible to see somebody that you love crippled with dementia to the point that they do not recognise members of their own family. The support that this charity offers to familes affected by the disease and the research work that they do is truly remarkable.
So - yet another plea - as you read this please take a moment to think of me, pounding the pavements of Sale, and hopefully you'll be generous enough to sponsor me for my efforts.
Please dig deep and sponsor me online. Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.
So please sponsor me now!
Many thanks for your support.
