Derby 10k · 15 April 2018
Last year, along with my fabulous colleagues and learners, I ran/walked the fun run (3k) at this event, 6 months after the removal of my brain tumour. This year, 18 months after neurosurgery, I am fitter, stronger and more determined than I’ve ever been!
I’ve joined a gym and a running club, and have been building up my balance, strength and stamina. After regular 5k Parkruns every Saturday morning I decided the next challenge would be 10k...and a few attempts with Jenny have gone well! So we will be running the Derby 10k :)
I am having surgery for my bone anchored hearing aid on the 28th March so will try my best to recover quickly and be ready for the run on the 15th April (2 weeks later!) even if I have a pudsey bear bandage and a funky new shaved haircut!
It’s all worth it if we can get a few more pounds in the pot for Brain Tumour Research.
Oh and before you ask, I have no intention of ever doing a marathon.....this is just the right distance for me!
Thanks for caring xxx
