Recently I've been thinking a lot of about how people now a days are so self indulged and forgotten the real meaning of helping. Everyone thinks about what they can get out of helping someone, be it a friend or stranger, so I have decided to use my time wisely.

India witnesses a huge disparity between the urbanised wealthy and the rural poor. Although government initiatives are targeting this and attempting to redress the balance. India is a vast country and changes will take time. However, there are many opportunities where Raleigh can make a real difference now in both marginalised rural communities as well as in the area of environmental preservation.

By partnering with both local grass roots NGOs, government agencies such as the Ministry for Environment and Forests and international NGOs like the World Wide Fund for Nature, Raleigh has been able to access and address some core issues in India. Although they are a relatively small group of like-minded young people, the message they send in their presence and activities here has a huge multiplying effect.

I'm not asking people to give me a load of money but as you can see I do have to raise a lot and every little will help!
