Story
10 years ago my gorgeous mum took her last breath at Sue Ryder Hospice ; this was the year of my 40th birthday, as you can imagine I didn't really want to celebrate anything that birthday. Now 10 years on with my 50th Birthday around the corner, I can focus more on the life that my Mum & Dad had, and what they taught me "Be Strong" "Be Kind" "Stand Tall" and most of all Mum used to say, "Just Be You" .
I miss my Mum and Dad everyday of my life ; but they too had to endure the loss of loved ones in there lives, as we all will. When a loved one has cancer and the end if difficult with suffering and pain, all you want is peace for them, Manorlands gives you that and more ... the setting, the staff, everything about this place says peace. So this year it's time to give back to the place that gave us all as a family and my mum peace in the last days of her life, to be there holding her hand to the end, is all you can ever ask for.
So with this I am running The Great North Run, 13.3 miles in my 50th year, to raise money for a great cause.
I try everyday to continue to follow there strong footsteps on how to take on this wonderful life they gave me, to try and continue to make then proud of the women they taught me to be & I know they will be running by my side on this day, and forever more xxxx
