Walk 10K for TTTS · 8 August 2020 ·
Hello, I'm Natalie. On May 11th I gave birth to my beautiful identical twin girls Freya and Alice. They were born extremely prematurely at 24 weeks and 6 days, Freya was born sleeping and Alice lived for 10 days on a Neonatal unit. My daughters died due to a pregnancy complication called Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS). TTTS is where the placenta over supplies one twin with blood and the other has reduced blood flow, as you can see with my daughters this is a syndrome which can be fatal.
Twins trust have set up a research unit at St George's hospital in London to complete vital research in to TTTS and other twin complications.
There are no words for the pain of a parent when their baby/babies die. I am doing all I can to support Twins trust to enable them to raise funds to complete this vital research so that other families hopefully do not have to go through the agony that is losing twins or one twin.
I am grateful to have some wonderful friends some of which will be joining me on this walk, thank you as always: Siobhan, Caroline, Gurch, Jayne, Lindsay and Natalie B xx
Please donate and thank you xx
