Story
Local charities need our help more than ever in the face of the pandemic. After having Covid and diabetes burnout in 2020, I want to turn it around and make 2021 a far healthier year while helping an amazing local charity that I'm so proud to be a patron of.
The 1083 mile Lands End to John O’Groats Virtual Fitness Challenge means I'll have to train consistently to make the distance during 2021 and I'll be blogging my journey along the way - how it affects my type 1 diabetes management and my creativity, as well as the amazing things The Leon Heart Fund are doing with your generosity.
Founded in 2009, The Leon Heart Fund was created to support the children and their families who attend Cardiac wards at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff and the Special Care Baby Unit at Singleton Hospital, Swansea. In 2021, the charity presented 12 life-saving cardiac watches to CEO Len Richards and Professor Orhan Uzun at the Children's Hospital of Wales.
Even if it's just £1 you're able to donate, it's a positive step to making a difference and will be so massively appreciated.
Now, who's running me a bath and giving me a massage at the end, eh?
