The Play Barn Project is dedicated to raising the necessary funds to create a safe haven for children with different types of cancers providing somewhere for them to play, in a safe, sterile environment together.

Story

The Playbarn is a fantastic project where a sterile playbarn is being created as a safe and fun place for children with either cancer or low immune systems to come and have as normal a life as possible without risk or fear of catching an infection. It will also include a therapy room allowing children to try and carry on with their own playtime in a happy fun environment.

I am also running the marathon for my son Rudi (or Roo as he is known) who has EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) which is a connective tissue disorder. Roo only learnt to walk at nearly four and spent the first three years of his life in and out of hospital having various tests to determine what was wrong. Great Ormond Street eventually diagnosed him in 2012 and since then have treated him as an out patient. As EDS is a rare syndrome, the charity is relatively small and research is key to everything they do. Their slogan is "making the invisible, visible".

Thank you so much for your support.
