Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

We are raising money in memory of our beautiful son Arran, on what would be his 2nd birthday (22nd June).

This year, we have chosen to raise money for the Scottish Cot Death Trust. They provide invaluable support, information and research into SIDS / SUDI (“cot death”), as well as running their “safe sleep” initiative, and have been invaluable in helping us since Arrans death.

Although Arran did not pass away from SIDS or SUDI (‘cot death’), this charity and team of volunteers provided the most incredible support to us. They arranged and paid for counselling for both my husband and I, they set up weekly calls with a volunteer for additional support (who still contacts us now!), and they helped guide us through the difficult post-mortem process.

Not only that, but on finding out I was expecting Arrans little sister Aila, they arranged for us to have infant and child first aid training, and provided us with a nappy monitor for extra peace of mind. Both of those services have helped us immensely since Aila was born, and have helped to relieve some of the anxieties we have around parenting after loss.

The support they provided - and continue to provide - is incredible, and we want to give back and support them in any way we can. All donations, likes, shares and comments are much appreciated, especially during these difficult times for everyone!

Thank you for helping us support these charities, for helping us raise awareness of baby loss, and most of all thank you for helping us celebrate and remember our beautiful brave son, Arran.

Love always - Natalie, Neil, Arran & Aila xox

About the charity

Every 9 days in Scotland a baby or child will die suddenly and unexpectedly - many of their families will never know why they died. As the only charity in Scotland dedicated to the issue of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI), we provide support, education resources and fund research.
