WCBW FIGHT NIGHT 16th November 2019 · 16 November 2019 ·

After 8 gruelling weeks, a group of boxers take the big step into the squared circle to compete against each other in a charity boxing match.

Story

I am about to take part in something that will take me out of my comfort zone, push me to my physical and mental limits.    I will try my hardest to complete this... Not saying I'm there to win a fight but definitely there to raise money for a very worthy charity. Specifically raising funds and awareness of male suicide.

After 8 gruelling weeks, a group of boxers take the big step into the squared circle to compete against each other in a charity boxing match. Each fight has been matched based on ability, fitness and weight and will exhibit what the fighters have learnt over their 8 week training camp in front of their friends and family. Along with 8 weeks of training, the fighters have been fundraising for Merthyr and The Valleys Mind.Merthyr and the Valleys Mind provides a range of quality services to individuals who experience mental or emotional distress throughout Merthyr Tydfil and Rhondda Cynon Taf.  Every year, one in four of us will experience a mental health problem but hundreds of thousands of people are still struggling to get the support they need. Still unable to access the services that could change their life. Still facing prejudice and misunderstanding.  Merthyr and the Valleys Mind believe no one should have to face a mental health problem alone.
