Story
Ks for Carers is a week-long event, organised by Carers Queensland, to raise awareness and vital funds to support our state’s 484,000 unpaid family carers.
Our Team in Central Queensland works with Carers and their families everyday and are constantly in awe of the work they do in sometimes very challenging and complex circumstances.
Carers are everyday people like you and me.
A Carer may be a parent caring for young or teenage child with a disability like Autism, Cerebral Palsy, intellectual impairment, down syndrome.
Carers may be older parents whose grown children need constant care and support.
A Carer could be a husband or wife caring for their partner who may have a disability like MS, a chronic or Mental Health illness.
Young Carers are children/teenagers caring for a parent or family member who may have a chronic illness, disability or is frail aged.
Our Team has nominated to walk, run, ride 400 kms from the 10 – 17 June 2016. We will finish the week with a celebratory group 5K walk on Friday 17 June and BBQ breakfast.
Celebrate the week with A walk and breakfast 17th June: Meet at the Botanical Gardens (kids playground) 6.00am for a 5km walk and finish with a free BBQ Breakfast for all participants involved over the week at 7.00am. Come for the walk, stay for the BBQ or just come for the BBQ Breakfast...................
