About Dementia UK and Admiral Nurses Were Dementia UK the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses, are here to help when people need it most. They work in the community, in NHS hospitals and GP surgeries, and on our free Admiral Nurse Dementia Helpline. Continually supported and developed by Dementia UK, Admiral Nurses provide life-changing support for families affected by all kinds of dementia including Alzheimer's disease. Our nurses have the time to listen and the knowledge to solve problems. They help people with dementia stay independent for longer, and support the people who care for them. When friends and family are worried about a loved one, they give them confidence to manage their future with dementia.
