The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

Cancer is one of those scary words that you hope never has to effect you, your family or your friends.

Sadly, it's affected both my family and friends.Last year I lost my first friend to cancer. Sophie was 27 and lost her battle to Hodgkin's Lymphoma. 27 is too young to lose someone so special. Earlier this year, a friend's mother has also passed away from metastatic breast cancer. And about 8 years ago, my father managed to overcome prostate cancer and is now living healthy at the age of 77.

And because of this, i'm raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Although none of my family and friends used Macmillan Cancer Support as they're based in Australia, having access to this type of service/support is so valuable.

At Macmillan, they realise how a cancer diagnosis can affect everything in your life, and they're about to support someone through that. This could include support about money worries, advice about work, to have someone who'll listen if you just want to talk.
