Story
World Giraffe Day is Friday 21st June 2019
Your gift today will directly support giraffe conservation across Africa
Giraffes are listed as vulnerable to extinction on the IUCN Red List of threatened species. Their numbers in Africa have plummeted by a staggering 40% over the last 30 years. It is estimated that there are fewer than 100,000 giraffes remaining in the wild today.
Giraffes are in trouble, but there is a silver lining!
World Giraffe Day is an exciting annual event initiated by the Giraffe Conservation Foundation (GCF) to celebrate the longest-necked animal on the longest day of the year. This worldwide event raises support, creates awareness, and sheds light on the challenges faced by these amazing and much-loved creatures.
What better day to celebrate World Giraffe Day, falling on the same day as the Summer Solstice. And this year, I will be braving the tattooist’s needle to raise funds for GCF. This will be my first tattoo ever, a stunning image of a giraffe. By sponsoring me on 21st June, you can help to raise funds for the leading international charity dedicated to securing a future for all giraffe populations in the wild.
As well as sponsoring me, why not come and join me at Holy Ghost Tattoo Collective in Rotherham Town Centre at 11.00am to help raise awareness of World Giraffe Day - www.holyghosttattoo.com
Thank you for sticking your neck out for giraffe conservation in Africa
