Story
I will be taking on the Royal Parks Half Marathon and raising funds for the Sweaty Betty Foundation - a charity focused on empowering more girls to fulfil their potential to lead a healthier, happier and more active life.
Every girl deserves to feel confident and happy. Yet right now, over one million teenage girls are missing out on the life changing power and joy of movement, with 1 in 3 struggling with their mental health. Girls from disadvantaged backgrounds often face the greatest barriers to being active.
This run will be taking place a day before my 36th birthday and like most people, I only took up running in my 30s once I realised pretty much everything is going downhill and if I'm going to lead a healthy fit life, I need to make the changes now. But I sorely wish I had started sooner and even today, I sometime feel intimidated and unconfident going to the gym or attending classes.
So I would love it if you could support my run by donating whatever you can so we can encourage more young girls to get active and not have to face uphill battles later in life because they didn't feel like they could have started sooner.
Thank you!
