Over the many years that I have taken part in Relay, so many people close to me and close to the people around me have been affected by Cancer, lets be honest we all know someone.

This picture inspires me to continue my fundraising mission to help prevent, prolong and even one day cure.

For those that have followed my relay journey, will know that my beautiful friend was diagnosed with aggressive breast cancer in 2022. Laura has been through the unimaginable since then, but earlier this year was given the all clear…. THIS IS WHY I DO IT 🩷💜💙

Relay For Life celebrates the power of community fundraising to make breakthroughs happen. Across the UK and the globe, teams of friends, families and colleagues fundraise for world-leading research to save and improve lives, then unite as a community at an event to honour everyone affected by cancer and celebrate the progress we’re making.

How does the money you raise power progress?

- £65 could buy special restriction enzymes. These act like molecular scissors to cut long strands of DNA, allowing our scientists to find out more about the genes that can cause cancer.

- £220 could fund our team of nine cancer nurses for one hour. Our nurse helpline offers confidential support and guidance to people affected by cancer.
