Story
Hi All,
I am raising money for MRSA Action UK, a small charity raising awareness of the effects of hospital acquired infections and so called 'superbugs' such as MRSA.
MRSA is a bacteria that causes infections to different parts of the
body. It is tougher to treat because it is resistant to some commonly used antibiotics.
MRSA mainly affects patients staying in hospital. The infections occur in approximately 94,000 people each year and are associated with approximately 19,000 deaths, reportedly more deaths than HIV per year. Unfortunately one of those being my uncle Nick who passed away recently. His MRSA infection become severe and caused sepsis - a life-threatening reaction to severe infection in the body.
I am hoping that my fundraising will raise awareness of this infection. So please donate and if not, take some time to look at the MRSA Action UK Website.
Thanks,
Natasha
