Worldwide 5 billion people lack access to anaesthesia and surgery. As a result, millions suffer disability or death. SAWW works to redress this huge inequality in care by supplying suitable equipment, training and research to improve anaesthesia services in poor countries and emergency situations.

Story

Thank you for visiting the page!

I will be  walking Postbridge-Fernworthy Reservoir route, an 21km route on Dartmoor (hopefully on 21st May- weather dependent) to raise money for Safe Anaesthesia Worldwide(SAWW). Any donations will be greatly appreciated!

In the UK, we are fortunate enough to have access to the medication and equipment required to help keep patients as pain-free as possible throughout their surgical journeys. However, around 5 billion people worldwide lack access to surgical and anaesthetic care, mainly in the developing world. Many die or are left severely disabled or in pain as a result. Safe Anaesthesia Worldwide (SAWW) ensures the benefits of anaesthesia are available wherever needed so that patients can receive the treatment they need, safely and painlessly.
