WaterAid is an organization that I've worked in tandem with in the Rohingya Refugee camps and host communities of Bangladesh. Globally, they've reached over 27 million people with sustainable clean water solutions and work in 28 countries around the world. Their efforts improve livelihood outcomes for vulnerable people in numerous regions, and I'm proud to be fundraising and running the Berlin Marathon for and in partnership with them.

Sustainable access to clean water impacts more than health outcomes. Children who need to spend hours collecting water have less time for school. Women without private hygiene options are at heightened danger when they go out at night to a public toilet. Without clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene - diseases and acute respiratory infections spread more rapidly among an already vulnerable population (Where children and the elderly are especially vulnerable).

WaterAid is an international not-for-profit, determined to make clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene normal for everyone, everywhere within a generation. Only by tackling these three essentials in ways that last can people change their lives for good.

Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone’s daily life. Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good.
