Story
I'm celebrating 10 years of ATE by raising funds for their work in Lawra by running 21 km in Accra - on September 3rd!
Action Through Enterprise (ATE) is an exciting, innovative small charity carrying out excellent poverty reduction work in Lawra; an extremely isolated, rural, impoverished area of Upper West Ghana. We work to reduce poverty, empower communities, and improve lives.
ATE focus on the creation of sustainable small businesses (BizATE), enabling access to education (EducATE), and, supporting children with disability (SNAP). In the 10 years since it was founded, ATE has grown steadily, and is now widely recognised as the leading non-governmental organisation in Lawra. We are proud of be making a measurable difference in the reduction of poverty, working with the most vulnerable to leave no one behind.
Over the last ten years, Action Through Enterprise (ATE) has supported over 2500 children to access an education, over 110 entrepreneurs to set up sustainable businesses, and over 250 disabled children and their families to overcome discrimination and integrate into society.
This is how your donation can help:
- A £20 donation provides a rural school girl with sanitary pads every month for a year. This simple and low cost intervention gives children dignity during their period, ensures that they come to school every day, and prevents them from putting themselves in danger earning money to buy sanitary protection.
- £45 feeds child for a year, transforming a child’s life. ATE feeds over 600 students at seven schools a nutritious lunch every school day, preventing hunger, and enabling children to learn. It gives them a chance to complete school, opening up opportunities to break the cycle of poverty.
- A £60 donation can purchase a bicycle for a family with a disabled child like Patience, ensuring that they are mobile to get to work, school and be included in the community.
- A £300 donation can set up a small and sustainable business in one of our rural Hubs, supporting a family, driving forward economic development, and fighting poverty.
All your donations are going to such a great cause - thank you so much for your support.
