Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We're doing the bridge challange (an 8 mile walk over most of London's bridges) in an effort to raise money for Diabetes UK.

A modest amount to raise for a good cause, which many of you will know is especially close to Nathalie who has type 1 diabetes. The charity focuses on raising money to help those affected by diabetes.

The charity bit:

Diabetes is the most common cause of blindness in people of working age. Over the past five years, the number of children under 5 with type 1 diabetes has doubled.  In the UK, every 5 minutes one person is diagnosed with diabetes. With help from your sponsorship money, Diabetes UK can fund pioneering life- changing research, provide expert advice and information for everyone living with and at risk of developing diabetes.

The charity also looks to advise gorvernments and healthcare professionals on policies surrounding diabetes, plus raise awareness for the public on how to reduce the risk of getting type 2 diabetes. Their site is here: http://www.diabetes.org.uk

THANK YOU in advance for any donations you can make to help us achieve our £200 goal.
