Story
As part of the GUCFS, i am going to be running a marathon in support of Glasgow's Golden Generation, a fantastic charity that supports elderly people in and around the Glasgow area.
I wanted to undertake this challenge after breaking my ankle earlier this year and having very limited long distance running experience. I plan to run from Edinburgh to North Berwick at the end of November :)
Glasgow's Golden Generation, formerly Glasgow Old People's Welfare Association, has been caring in autumn years since 1948. The charity works throughout Glasgow to prevent loneliness, social isolation and poverty in older adults. Services provided by Glasgow's Golden Generation include 3 day care centres, a citywide befriending project, welfare officers and over 100 weekly clubs. In 2018, our platinum anniversary, we aim to reach even more older adults across the city and continue our vital work in the communities of Glasgow.
