Raising money for Glenfield Hospital for the ITU Ward to buy tablets/IPads

Raising money for Glenfield Hospital ICU ward for covid patients · 22 February 2021
My name is Nathasha and both my parents are NHS key workers. Unfortunately a month ago my mum got Covid and it affected her quite badly. She is currently in Glenfield hospital Leicester intubated (induced coma) in the adult Intensive Treatment Unit.
Due to covid restrictions my mum and many other covid patients have been isolated from the moment they arrive on the ward. Me, my dad and my brother get to see my mum everyday through the hospital iPad which a lovely nurse would hold for us so we get a few minutes to speak to my mum and see her. My mum is obviously intubated so she can’t speak but there have been times where she could heard our voices and she would respond by a nod or a tear.
There are times where we wait for hours to receive that video call so we can see my mum for 5 minutes, unfortunately the ITU Ward doesn’t have enough iPads for every patient, so it would be a nurse going round every patient with the iPad and video call their loved once.
Any funds we raise will be used to purchase tablets for the Glenfield hospital ITU Ward. This will allow patients who are isolated because of Covid-19 to see their loved ones.
Thank you all x
