The Central England Rehabilitation Unit (CERU) cares for people suffering from an acquired brain injury, stroke or tumour. This charity enhances the facilities at CERU to make the patients and relatives as comfortable as possible. There are many possible causes for acquired brain injuries and the some of the most common at CERU are: Road traffic accidents, sports injuries and falls. The average length of stay for patients at CERU is 124 days, many being under 35 years old.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

Our challenge: as a team we will be running as many 8km laps of a trail course in a relay as possible within 24 hours (yes, in the dark, all through the night!). If we're speedy (?!) we'll be running over half a marathon each!

Why?: we are doing this crazy challenge to fund raise for the Central England Brain Injury Appeal. We have a friend and colleague who was recently supported and cared for by the Central England Rehabilitation Unit. We would like to support the fantastic work of the CERU with this fundraising.

Why sponsor us?: whilst most of us run recreationally, the thought of running continual laps as a team relay over 24 hours makes us feel a little sick! We aim to have a runner on the course at all times which means very little sleep and pushing ourselves physically and mentally. We will be training hard to do the most laps that we can and your sponsorship will encourage us to do this!
