We offer professional mental health support by harnessing the healing power of nature. We bring together hill-walking, mindfulness and time with experienced coaches and counsellors in an unhurried, unpressured setting.

Story

UPDATE ON 11TH SEPTEMBER 2023

Thank you very much to those that made donations. As you would have seen, a massive earthquake hit Morocco, specifically the region where we would have gone. As a result, due to both the focus understandably being on rescue efforts and due to still risks with infrastructure, our touring agency have cancelled our trip. We will explore other options however most likely in the spring of 2024.

....................................................................................

In September this year, I’ll be trekking up 4,167m to the summit of Mount Toubkal in Morocco with some of my Samsung colleagues to raise funds for an amazing charity – Mind Over Mountains.

Whist I enjoy a challenge, climbing mountains is new for me. On day 2 we will climb to 3,000m, without acclimatisation, to a refuge (sleeping there will be interesting!). The next day we will embark on a massive 10 hour hike up to the peak and all the way back down to the bottom. This really will be a test of my physical and mental strength!

Having suffered with my own mental health, I’m passionate about others receiving access to therapy and really believe in the power of being in the outdoors. Mind Over Mountains are a mental health charity that offer accessible support, combining hill-walking and nature with experienced counsellors - www.mindovermountains.org.uk

Did you know that 1 in 4 people in the UK experience a mental health problem of some kind each year?

Did you know that the wait time to receive mental health support can be up to 18 weeks for a quarter of those that need it? 1.2 million people are on that waiting list in the UK.

With Mind Over Mountains, your donations could support with:

  • one person to attend a days’ walk - £40
  • follow-up professional counselling for someone in need - £50
  • a weekend of respite in nature - £195

I would really appreciate if you can donate what you can in support.
