Story
Hi everyone!
Many of you will already know me and know of Nature Mates but if you have just stumbled across this page, here's a little bit about me and my fundraising.
My name is Clare and I'm a yoga and paddleboard teacher based in Manchester. When I was younger I struggled a lot with anxiety and my mental health and over the last few years, I've completely changed my life with the help of yoga, paddleboarding and getting outdoors into nature.
In 2019 I started Nature Mates - a monthly hike that's free for anyone (and their dogs!) to join in. It's always accessible by train from Manchester city centre and we simply walk and talk. It's a great way to get outside and to get to know some other like minded people.
In 2020, it is still a free monthly event (search Clare Bethan Yoga on Eventbrite) but if possible please donate what you can to Surfers Against Sewage. That could just be £1 per walk. Every penny can add up to make a difference.
Why Surfers Against Sewage?
The ocean has always pulled at my heart strings and we all know it is in danger at the moment. As a paddle boarder, I sadly see first hand how much plastic and other substances end up in our waterways. I am not perfect and nor do I pretend to be, but I am passionate about doing my bit and supporting policies and legislation that will help combat climate change and plastic pollution.
Surfers Against Sewage inspire, unite and empower communities to protect oceans, beaches, waves and wildlife. Please help me to help them.
