Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.  My uncle, Muhammad Saleem, was diagnosed with MND in November 2018 and sadly lost his fight against this cruel disease on the 12th March 2020.

MND is a rare progressive terminal disease that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord leading to muscle wastage and currently there is no known cure. 

My uncle worked for the Railways for over 41 years from the time of British Rail era.  He was a kind-hearted soul and a passion for the work he did and outside of work always helped others.  

It is very saddening to see someone so active with so much life to do things suddenly not being able too.  This disease came from nowhere, slowly shutting down my uncle's body leaving him unable to walk and unable to talk.

There is no cure for this horrible disease except raising awareness and helping fund the research for a cure.  

Over the last 18 months, during these unprecedented times, I have trained for London, 3 times and ran 26.2 miles twice by myself and virtually so 3rd time lucky I will be at the starting line in London.
