Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.
We are two sisters who went vegan after our other sister rescued some egg laying chickens from a battery farm. The state of these birds was so upsetting that it really made us think deeply about the ethics of a system that produces cheap meat, milk and eggs.
It seems that the world is blinded by the enormous animal agriculture industry to the horror that is factory farming. Animals are seen as nothing more than commodities. The impact on human health, the environment and the animals themselves is a disaster.
After much soul searching and feeling utterly helpless in the face of such massive suffering and environmental devastation, we both decided the best thing we could do would be to raise money for a charity who is making an actual difference. We chose Compassion in World Farming because they really do make changes for the good. They are a well respected charity so they have the influence that we alone knew we could never have.
This year marks Compassion in World Farming's 50th year working to better the lives of farm animals. Their aim is to end factory farming and that day cannot come soon enough.
This year is also Lia's 50th birthday so we are climbing Snowdon on the day hoping to raise lots of money!
