Story
Hello all,
As you may or may not know, Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is a rare neurodegenerative disease that attacks the motor neurones in the brain and spinal cord. This means messages gradually stop reaching muscles, which leads to weakness, wasting and loss of mobility.
MND can affect how you walk, talk, eat, drink and breathe. However, there is a significant fear of the unknown with MND, as the symptoms can vary dramatically, can appear in a very short space of time and often in no particular order.
The disease is also extremely difficult to diagnose, and although there is currently no cure, symptoms can be managed to help achieve the best possible quality of life.
The Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA) are doing some amazing work to help as many people as possible affected by focusing on research, care and campaigning to raise awareness, so we've decided to do our bit by raising some money and awareness so that the charity can continue to do so.
The Three Peaks Challenge is not going to be a walk in the park, but the idea is to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland, Scafell Pike in England and Mount Snowdon in Wales, all within 24 hours...
All donations, little or large, will be given directly to MNDA to be put to good use and would be much appreciated!
Thanks for reading.
