Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We are raising money for the Open Door Centre Swindon who exist to make a positive difference in the lives of adults with learning disabilities, enabling them to achieve their highest potential. They do this by providing a range of activities within a safe, supportive and non-judgemental environment, and members are involved in every level of decision making about the running of the centre. Members are encouraged to be independent adults, understanding their rights and choices in order to become respected, confident, valued members of society.

The charity is particularly close to our team as a close relative of one of us was an active member of the group and enjoyed socialising and making friends with other members. The OpenDoor were particularly supportive in times of ill-health and end of life treatment.

We believe that the OpenDoor play an important part in the lives of those who would otherwise be isolated without a supportive group of likeminded members. We'd love to raise some money for the charity as they are under-funded and add real value to society.
