Through the government run National Citizens Service we have been awarded the opportunity to help towards Demelza, a Children's Hospice and improve the support given to children with life threatening illnesses as well as ease the strain given to the parents/ guardians through both caring and grievance stage.

We first found out about the large part we could play in helping many charity whilst attending lectures on the struggles the patients with in the different charities endure and the different forms in which we could help or volunteer. For these reasons my team and I choose to fundraiser for Demelza as we feel that there is a longer effect as the funds we raise will contribute to the purchase of new specialist equipment which helps make the children life comfortable with the time they have it. The funds will also help the volunteers who spend their time supporting the children and families before and after grievance period.  

We plan to fund raise through hosting a Boot sale, Bake sale, Quiz night and a Sponsored walk whilst this all takes place we will also raise awareness and inform the public of the good Damelza, a Children's Hospice offers.
