NCS Half Marathon Litter Pick · 10 August 2015

The Clock Tower Sanctuary is the only day centre service for young people experiencing homelessness in Brighton and Hove. We provide practical support as well as information, advice and guidance to help young people break away from homelessness and move towards a brighter future.

Story

We are part of an National Citizen Service group, based in Brighton. We have been stunned by the sheer amount of homeless people in Brighton- and this is just the people we have seen as we are passing through. As a whole, we agree that people should not be restricted from living as full a life as they can merely because of the circumstances they have found themselves in. Why should certain people be left to languish on the streets when others are safe inside? The homeless cannot help themselves- but we can.

On Monday the 10th August we will be taking part in a sponsored half-marathon litter pick through the Brighton and Hove area, visiting places that are notorious for having litter problems. All proceeds will go to the Clock Tower Sanctuary- a charity that offers support, information, and advice to young homeless people in the Brighton and Hove area. By doing this they allow homeless people to have equal opportunities that they couldn't otherwise reach, respect their individual needs, and give them access to important resources.
