Story
On Saturday 11th June I will be running the ‘Race to the King’ ultramarathon (101.5km) in support of the Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Trust’s Palliative Care and Childrens Community Nursing Team.
This will be the furthest I have ever run (walked/shuffled!) and I am sure the day will have its challenging moments!
The palliative care and CCN teams provide care for children and young people with life limiting conditions and complex medical needs.
Funds raised will provide a play specialist to provide sessions to support end of life care and help reduce fear and anxiety around clinical procedures and hospital attendances. Funds will also be used to purchase any required equipment.
I will be grateful for any sponsorship, however small, as it will make a real difference to these children, young people and their families.
Thank you for your support.
Neal
