Story
The Round Chapel Old School Rooms is an important community anchor working to reduce social isolation and tackle financial inequalities in Hackney.
They deliver a programme of activities every week to provide a warm, friendly, non-judgemental place for people in Hackney to come together. It's a place for people to make friends, volunteer, build confidence and find practical support to navigate statutory services to resolve issues around housing, benefits, health and immigration.
Their projects include:
- Clapton Community Drop In - a twice weekly drop in offering support to bridge the gap to statutory services for people with multiple complex issues.
- Urban Table - a free meal every Sunday to anyone who needs some food and hospitality.
- Well-Being Club - self-care sessions with priority places for single parent families living in hostel accommodation.
- Stay & Play - a weekly playgroup, with a free shop and an affordable lunch for families with children 0-5.
- All Ages Thursday - a weekly intergenerational session with over 50s dance, craft, toddler play and community cafe.
They work hard to address social injustice and to make a contribution to a happier, healthier, more connected neighbourhood.
Please give what you can to help to them keep this work going!
thank you
